About Ski Club of Washington DC
VISION Help members to enjoy life by sharing good times. MISSION Create a primary source of opportunities for members to spend discretionary time – a menu of all seasons of attractive recreational activities with an emphasis on winter and skiing / riding. GOALS Rely on trained volunteer leaders and collaborative vendors, to plan, organize, promote, and conduct activities which exceed participants’ expectations. Ensure fiscal sustainability while delivering quality recreational products at reasonable cost. PRINCIPLE Humans have always sought other humans to share experiences. Recreation has been a major activity to promote cooperation among diverse people. The club’s purpose is simply to have fun. SCWDC pioneered skiing on the local scene 75 years ago and is still a force for social interaction in the world of recreation – perhaps pre-eminent in the Washington DC metro area. Our well-developed policies, procedures, and experience are leveraged by member volunteers to produce fun events from both innovative and tried-and-true ideas. Our signature ski trips – international, western, and eastern – along with myriad other activities (tennis, hiking, sailing, etc) are opportunities for members to connect with like-minded old and new friends. Participating is simple and cost effective: Just make a reservation after learning of possibilities via website, magazine, or weekly ski-o-gram email. We are a Club of members, by members and for members.
