About University of Iowa Ski and Snowboard Club
The UISSC is a student run organization dedicated to bringing fun to the club members both in and out of the snow. Since we are in Iowa, there are not many opportunities to go skiing on a regular basis as opposed to other parts of the United States. As a result, we have numerous activities through the year, which allow club members to make new friends and meet new people.Ski club offers excellent opportunities for members to get together with other club members to take smaller, local trips. There are (some) places in where you can go skiing with smaller groups and still make it back in a single day. Sundown Mountain in Dubuque or Chestnut Mountain in Galena are two spots that can be reached in under two hours by car.
The ski club is a great way of meeting new people and having fun while doing it. Skiing abilities range from never been skiing to jumping over roads and everywhere in between. Each trip there are at least five people who will be making it their first time skiing. They do fine and end up having a lot of fun.
