About Flint Snowbirds Ski Club
The Flint Snowbirds is Flint's first African-American Ski Club. It was formed and chartered in 1970. The club was established under the leadership of Bunice Collins, President, and 13 charter members. The Detroit Jim Dandy Ski Club and the Metropolitan Detroit Ski Council were instrumnental in assisting Bunice Collins and LeVan Walker in setting up their preliminary objectives.The Snowbirds joined the National Brotherhood of Skiers in 1973 and formed the Flint Snowbirds Youth Chapter in 1991.
Our mission is to meet the needs of children and families in Genesee County by introducing the sports of Downhill, Cross Country Skiing, and Snow Boarding to ensure the continuous prticipation in these sports among minorities inFlint, Michigan and the surounding areas.
The Flint Snowbirds Ski Club is a single and family oriented club and all are welcome to join.

We meet four(4) times a year at the YMCA in downtown Flint.Trips & Events
The Flint Snowbirds Ski Club participates in the Martin Luther King Ski-Celebration, National Brotherhood of Skiers Summit, Snow-Gophers Carnival, and Cross Country Skiing at area golf courses. All cross country trips are dependent on the weather.Upcoming Trips & Events
