About this Club

We are a ski club with a lodge. We host national and international trips, as well as social and recreational activities through out the year. But more than that, we are a group of people who honor the long-standing traditions of the club, while still incorporating new ideas. We seek others who have an appreciation for these values: camaraderie, involvement, commitment, good humor, creativity and mutual respect. Our focus is to provide a variety of enjoyable activities and attract people with similar interests, promote long lasting friendships and help develop the skills and talents of each member.

Area Served

We are on Long Island, New York. Most of our members are from Long Island, but we have members from the NY Metro area. Our lodge is in the Mad River Valley of Vermont.

Meetings

Meetings are the first and third Wednesday of the month From Oct. thru April. We meet at the Plattdeutsch Park Restaurant, 1132 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square (Long Island), NY 7:30pm-8:00pm Social, 8:00pm general meeting

Memberships

You join the club as an Applicant Member and pay an applicant fee (currently $65). This can be done at any time during the year. An Applicant member enjoys most of the benefits of regular membership except they can not vote in any Club elections, they can not make reservations at the Lodge on their own and any stay at the Lodge has to be accompanied by a Regular Member . You remain an Applicant Member until the coming April. To become a Regular Member, durring the same ski season you become an Applicant Member, you must ski twice with the club, at least one of those times at the Lodge. You must show a club spirit by doing such things as attending club meetings, events and activities. Towards the end of the ski season, Regualr Membership applications are given out. It must be signed by 3 current members. Applicant Members are then voted in as Regular Members at the annual meeting in April. Anual dues is $65.

Trips & Events

Besides winter trips & events (snow sports) we have actilvities all year long. Some have included picnics, dinner/dances, softball, golf, tennis, camping, hihking, bicycle rides, horseback riding, canoe trips and anything the members express interest in, we wil try to provide.
