About Onondaga Ski Club
The Onondaga Ski Club was formed over 50 years ago in Syracuse, New York, for the purpose of bringing skiers together and promoting the fun of skiing. It has expanded and become a club for many activities, covering all of our four seasons. In addition to cross country and downhill skiing and boarding, we are active in biking, tennis, golf, bowling, camping, hiking, reading, ski racing, canoing and kayaking, to mention a few. Our social activities and parties are frequent throughout the year at restaurants in and around Syracuse and at our Lodge in Vermont. Our ski club is located in Syracuse, New York. Our Lodge in Lower Granville, Vermont is located between Sugarbush and Killington ski areas on route 100 and is now an all season facility, helping to expand our membership throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states as well as New York. It is owned and maintained by our club and provides economical and reliable year round lodging for our members.Meetings
Our club holds a general meeting at 8 PM on the second Tuesday of each month from September thru April at the Ramada Inn on Buckley Road, Liverpool, NY. These meetings are open to the public and feature information on trips, local ski areas, social events and up-coming activities of the club. Eligibility; Membership shall be open to individuals who are skiers or who are interested in the purposes and projects of the Club.Types of Membership
Every member shall be in one of the following categories
Adult membership - eighteen (18) years of age
Junior membership - thirteen (13) years of age, but has not reached eighteen (18) years of age. A junior member joining the Onondaga Ski Club must be sponsored by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian who is a Club member.
Due Date
The annual dues for membership shall be payable by October 15 of each year.
Amounts; Presently, dues are as follows:
Adult membership $20.00
Junior membership $10.00
Initiation Fee
There shall be an initiation fee for each new adult member in the amount of $5.00. A one year grace period shall be extended to former members who have allowed their membership to lapse.
Trips & Events
In the winter we try to organize 1 or more week-long ski trips and several car or bus trips each year. The longer trips may be to Europe or the Canadian or US Rockies and the shorter trips may be to Vermont, Canada or areas in our own State. In the other seasons of the year we are active in a variety of local events. Our biking, tennis, and golf groups meet weekly during these times. We gemerally organize one week for camping during the summer and there are several weekend events for canoeing, kayaking and socializing. We do some volunteer events also such as "Adopt-A-Highway", Christmas "Rescue Mission" meals, etc..Upcoming Trips & Events
