About this Club

The Cleveland Ski Club is a group of more than 250 skiers in Northeast Ohio dedicated to skiing and snowboarding as well as social activities around skiing. It's one of the oldest ski clubs in Ohio and one of 26 area clubs that are part of the Cleveland Metro Ski Council. It's the only ski club in Ohio with it's own hill – Big Creek Ski Area.

Big Creek Ski Area, northeast Ohio's best kept skiing secret, has something for everyone. You've got Easy Street … a green that wraps around the hill and keeps kids and beginners busy. You've got Show Off, the Estes Bowl and Chute, blue-to-black hills that rival anything in Ohio. And, you have the challenging Zot, a nearly vertical double black that keeps you hopping (literally). And yes, we have a snow cat that grooms everything but the challenging Zot. New for 2006…expanded snowmaking capabilities...and our Bombardier groomer provides new corduroy skiing every day!

Two lifts keep folks moving uphill with hardly a wait. Our popular "Kids on Skis" program on Saturday mornings provides FREE instruction for members' children.

The ski hill is on State Route 608 in Concord Township, Lake County, Ohio. That's about 5 miles east of Route 90 (at the Route 44 exit) and just over the border of the Snowbelt.

The hill is a family-oriented place with plenty of snowmaking, a cozy chalet, free ski lessons for kids and some non-skiing partying festivities as well.

We don't have meetings so much as skiing and snowboarding every night and weekend during the ski season!

Trips & Events

Throughout the season Big Creek Ski area hosts potluck dinners on Fridays, pancake breakfasts on occasional Sundays, wine and cheese parties, Winter Carnival, a Cleveland Metro Ski Council Children's Race, the Free Kids on Skis program and more.

In the summer we party at the corn roast, clam bake and more. Seasonal parties may include New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day.
