About Texas Twisters Ski and Adventure Club
The Texas Twisters Ski and Adventure Club is affiliated with the Texas Ski Council (TSC). It is a fun group of people. We are not as large as we once were but we still have as much heart for skiing as we did when we were larger. Many people are rejoining us after being gone for awhile for various reasons.There are five trips each year with the ski council as well as local club trips. We have skiers of all ability levels. We ski all over the United States, Canada, and Europe. There is at least one foreign trip each year. Many non-skiers accompany us on these trips.
Being a member of a ski clubs insures group rates for lodging and lift tickets which makes the prices excellent. The foreign trips are especially reasonable and an excellent way to see the sights of another country. A ski club makes sure you have someone to ski with. You make many friends in your local club as well as getting to know people from all over the state on TSC trips. We all have friends from other states who choose to ski with us as well.
On TSC trips, we have club races and individual races. The races are NASTAR type races. Each club gets points and first, second, & third places are awarded to the clubs in three different divisions depending on club size. The race director of each club chooses members to race in the Individual races. Only the top Gold, Silver, or Bronze NASTAR times from all the clubs are awarded medals. A party at the end of each week announces the winner and gives out the awards. The club races are won more on participation than on ability. Therefore, you do not have to be a "ski racer." Your participation alone helps earn your club points. It is a lot of fun. Everyone is pulling for you.
We may not have ski slopes in Texas but we have wonderful people and excellent skiers! Come join us.
