About this Club

The Desert Ski Club is a ski and board club active since 1953 and is based in the far northwest in east-central Washington State and northeastern Oregon. For club information, our web site pretty well covers the basics as to who we are, when and where our monthly meetings are held and the scheduled trips we will take this coming winter.

We normally have approximately 130 members. Our annual dues are a nominal $25 for an individual. Our website www.desertskiclub.org is open to visitors and provides access to our recent newsletter, The Tumbleweed News, which contains all of our planned trips for the year as well as all the important club contacts.

We do not have a "home" ski area, but up here in the far northwest, quite a bit of good skiing is within an easy drive for a day's skiing and even more if one wants to make a weekend of it. We also take several extended weekend trips to more distant areas generally in Canada and all up and down the Rockies and Sierras. This year, 2011-2012, we have fourteen trips scheduled Members take advantage of club familiarity to arrange trips among themselves for skiing days (or weekends) as the spirit moves them. The larger scheduled trips are truly group affairs which, in addition to skiing, encourage considerably more camaraderie, chatter and kicking up our heels...

In addition to our newsletter, we also have an open-forum e:Mail "bulletin board" for members to post messages to the whole group to arrange a daily or weekend (or other) ski trip, to let others know of attractive accommodations available, etc. We also post all club messages of general necessity or interest. Trips & Events

We schedule bus and airline access trips throughout the NW US and western Canada each year. We also fly to destinations in UT, CO, CA, NM and Europe. Visit our website for more info.
