About this Club

The Little Heiskell Ski Club was established as a nonprofit corporation in March of 1967. Over the years, the club has seen dynamic changes in the ski industry. Some of our charter members are still active in the club and started skiing on wooded skis with leather boots!

There have a lot of changes since 1967, but the Club's purpose has basically remained the same. The purpose of the LHSC is the encouragement, advancement, and improvement of the sport of skiing and snowboarding for pleasure, recreation, and other non-profitable purposes. The LHSC promotes competition, good fellowship, and the preservation of the sport with the highest ideals of sportsmanship.

Area Served

Our location in Hagerstown MD enables us to draw members from PA, MD and WV. Our favorite local ski areas include Whitetail Ski Resort in Mercersburg PA., Ski Liberty in Fairfield PA (Gettysburg), and The Wisp in Deep Creek Lake MD.

Meetings

The Little Heiskell Ski Club meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at Olivers Restaurant in Hagerstown MD. Social hour meets at 6:00pm and meetings start at 7:00pm. Every meeting has a special interest program. Program topics cover a variety of subjects from ski/board & boot maintenance, ski trips, white water rafting, bike maintenance to ski fashions.

Memberships

Membership is open to skiers, snowboarders, and others pledging themselves to observe the Constitution and by-laws of the club. Formal applications for club membership must be accompanied by a check or money offer in the amount of annual dues. All new memberships must approved by LHSC members at a regular meeting.

Trips & Events

Our winter calendar of events include Silent Auctions, Club Ski Nite at Whitetail Ski Resort, the Annual Ski Swap, ski trips this year to Steamboat & Breckenridge and the Annual Holiday Party and Awards Banquet. In the summer we host wine tastings, canoe/rafting outings and a Crab Feed plus many more!
