About Chapin Forest Ski Center
Chapin Forest, a Lake Metropark, is easily the best cross country skiing area in northeast Ohio. The area offers great views of both Cleveland and Lake Erie, as well as a great wooded, hilly setting.The area is groomed daily for both traditional and skating strides, making for predictably good skiing. Being located in the prime snow belt, the area generally has the best skiing conditions around.
Note: The Ski Center is opened and staffed when weather, snow
accumulation, and conditions warrant its opening (4 inches needed to ski on).
Before visiting the center, call our Winter Sports Hotline for daily ski
conditions and snow accumulation reports and to confirm the center is
open for the day (440) 954-4178.
