About Malabar Farm
Malabar offers a good variety of terrain and marked trails, as well as a xc ski shop. Ski Rental includes skis, bindings, shoes, poles and lots of encouragement!! Rental begins after December 15th, weather permitting.Beginner Loop (1 mile)-Skiers need basic knowledge and limited experience in the diagonal stride, snow plow, and side stepping. Trails are typically flat and may have short downhill and uphill stretches.
Moderate Loop (2 miles)-Skiers need to be able to ski varied terrain. Same as beginner loop only twice as long. Trail located in open rolling hills near wooden areas.
Advanced Trail (4.5 miles)-Skiers need to be more experienced as trails may be hazardous and terrain is frequently extreme. Turns may be sharp and trails narrow. may require crossing streambeds and roadways. Areas enter wooded areas and fields.
