History
Val d’Isère is a village with a past dating back several centuries, and where the local architectural inheritance is preserved and embellished year after year. Whilst wandering around the village one will come across :
- the church dating from the 11th century
- houses with sloping roofs, built of stone and wood
- several isolated hamlets which bring further charm

What's New This Season at Val D'Isere
Val d’Isère’s new leisure centre is ready and waiting to welcome you for relaxing after-ski or more intense training sessions. With 5 000 m² of sporting equipment including 780m² of different swimming pools, there is plenty to choose from : a 250m² swimming pool, a 430m² leisure pool, a 135m² climbing area, a 575m² multi-activity sports hall, a 209m² weights room, 2 x 64m² squash courts, 225m² well-being area (sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths, hydro-massage…)
Savoyard supper in an igloo !
For experienced skiers. Spend an evening with a difference, far from the madding crowd, high up on the legendary Bellevarde mountain in an igloo. The evening begins witha 20 minute snowmobile trip followed by an apreritf whilst contemplating the magnificent view of the Mont Blanc. The comes a traditional Savoyard supper (chees fondue and chocolate fondue) in the igloo, with the guests taking part in a torchlight descent at the end of the evening to get back down the mountain.
