The runs are excellent, the mountain huts are quaint and the prices are unbeatable. The Wildschönau is an insider tip for all those who are looking for a fairly priced winter holiday with a breathtaking backdrop of the Kitzbühel Alps.
The first ski lift was built in the winter paradise Wildschönau in 1947 when the valley was discovered by ski pioneers. The ADAC (German Automobile Association) voted the Wildschönau top in the category ‘Small and Friendly’ throughout the whole alpine region.
These days, skiers are offered 70 km of finest ski runs ranging from baby slopes to deep blacks on the Schatzberg, Marchbachjoch and Lanerköpfl Mountains. For the more adventurous skier, the 3 km long Hochberg run from the Lanerköpfl lift offers the Best Black Run and that’s official.
