About Sipapu
Located just 20 miles southeast of Taos, Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort is New Mexico’s fastest growing resort (yet you won’t wait in line for a lift).
Both first-time and returning guests alike appreciate the quintessential mountain life found only at Sipapu: a fun, friendly mountain (where your kids won’t get lost, perfect for skiers and boarders of all skill levels); clean, simple accommodations (no in-room TVs or phones – we believe families should connect with each other, not over their electronics); and the best deals around, which allows everyone to have the family vacation they want at prices they can easily afford.

we all love sipapu
Sipapu is just what it advertises-a family friendly and fun place to ski. I love the mountains, people, and quality of the snow. Lodging is inexpensive, rustic, and real. If you haven't been to Sipapu--its time!...More |

This Week at Sipapu
What's New This Season at Sipapu
The First Ski Area to Open in NM
For a decade, Sipapu has been the first ski area open in the state, and officials expect to clench that title again when the lifts start turning on November 17.
Expanded Snowmaking Systems
Last fall, Sipapu installed a new 1,800 foot snowmaking pipeline from the base area to near the middle of Sipapu’s mountain. This pipeline will allow snowmakers to blow snow in more locations and trails at once, which means mountain crews will be able to open more terrain faster.
The Best Tree Skiing in New Mexico
During the off-season, mountain crews removed standing dead trees and other trail improvements on its most popular tree runs, including Indecision, Reasonable Anxiety and the Jip and Josh chutes.
The State’s Only Organic Terrain Parks
Last year, Sipapu became the first ski area in New Mexico to offer organic terrain parks, and the resort will again offer these unique parks exclusively at Sipapu.
