What's New This Season at Sipapu
| First to Open in New Mexico: Opening Date at Sipapu is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2014. This year will mark the 12th consecutive season that Sipapu has opened before any other ski area in the state. Historically, Sipapu offers New Mexico's longest ski season as well (we are known for being the first to open and last to close).
Improved Tree Skiing: On Sipapu’s slopes, guests will discover incredible steeps, untracked powder (that locals know will stick around for days after a storm) and some of the best tree skiing in the state. For the upcoming winter, mountain crews expanded its legendary tree skiing on Gamble Trees. A New Lift: Late last fall, Sipapu installed a new lift - a magic carpet - on its Practice Slope. Sipapu’s newest lift is a 470-foot long magic carpet that rises 100 vertical feet while gliding flush along the surface of the snow. It offers novice skiers and snowboarders an easier way to hone their skills before they progress to more advanced terrain. |
