About Great Canadian Heli Skiing
The Selkirks and the Purcells in the Interior of British Columbia are possibly the most famous skiing mountain ranges in the world. They can offer phenomenal amounts of dry champagne powder snow, good flying conditions and great skiing weather. At Great Canadian Heli-Skiing we elevate the experience further by offering one of the most intimate and exclusive Heli-Skiing holidays available. Our groups are intentionally small (4 guests and one guide). We have 2,000 square kilometers of skiing terrain with runs varying in length from 400-2,100 vertical meters (approx. 1,500 to 6,900 vertical feet). There are hundreds of ski runs exclusively for your use, offering every type of terrain – glaciers, open bowls, gladed trees – and every slope angle and exposure. Great Canadian Heli-Skiing offers a private and personal Heli-Skiing experience with the all-inclusive luxury of unlimited vertical skiing. We offer 7, 5, 4, 3 and 2-day all-inclusive packages. Skiing in groups of four guests and one guide, with a maximum of 24 guests per week ensure an exclusive Heli-Skiing vacation. Unlimited vertcal skiing, powder ski/snowboard equipment, deluxe accommodation at the Heather Mountain Lodge and all meals (gourmet dinner and breakfast in our dining room, and picnic lunch in the mountains) are included. Heather Mountain Lodge is easily accessible by car, but is still remote in that there are no surrounding properties. The Lodge is used exclusively for Great Canadian Heli-Skiers and as such makes your stay that much more private. We have an on-site heli-pad that allows our skiers easy access to the helicopters to begin their skiing day. We use the ultimate Heli-Skiing machine, the "A-Star B2" helicopter to take guests up to our vast ski terrain.

Great Canadian Heli Skiing Quick Facts
Guide Certifications & Experience
Our guides are experienced and certified professionals (ACMG or CSGA), with years of training in avalanche hazard forecasting, weather analysis, emergency medical techniques and guiding. Our guides are constantly practicing snow and avalanche management as they analyze the changes in conditions and make guiding decisions accordingly. Each morning and evening our guides meet to evaluate and discuss the weather, snow stability and terrain based on field observations and data supplied by remote weather stations and the Canadian Avalanche Association. Continuous radio communication between the guides, the helicopter and the base allows for quick response to any emergency if one were to occur. The guides carry extensive emergency gear in their packs and on the helicopter. |
Equipment Used
We use the ultimate Heli-Skiing machine the "A-Star B2". These are powerful, very comfortable helicopters designed for mountain flying. We offer our guests free use of our ski and snowboard equipment. We carry different models of Atomic skis and Burton and Prior snowboards.
