Welcome to the Rib Lake Ski & Snowshoe Club trail system. The trail system consists of 30 km of trails that are groomed at a minimum weekly, and after each snowfall as necessary, to ensure a quality experience for diagonal skiing, skate skiing, and snowshoeing.

The trail system is open for free, public use during the ski and snowshoe season, but donations are always appreciated. The season typically begins December 15 and ends in late March.

The Rib Lake Ski & Snowshoe Club consists of a volunteer organization of people who donate many hours of time to promote and maintain one of the finest cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trail systems in Wisconsin. Many local companies, organizations, and individuals have recognized the value of this major area attraction, and support the trail system with both financial and material donations through our Friends of the Trail program. Their contributions are critical to the continuing operation of the trail system.

The Rib Lake Ski & Snowshoe Club is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation.

Please consider supporting the trail system with your tax-deductible donation

Outdoor Recreation For Every Ability!

Ranging from the Beginners Loop to the Championship Trail, the trail system has been designed to encourage the novice and challenge the expert, while providing an enjoyable experience for skiers and snowshoers of all abilities.

The most popular section of the trail is the two-mile beginners ski loop, which begins and ends at the Rusch Preserve on Hwy C. This gently rolling and wide scenic route includes the Friendship Bridge. At 14 feet in height and 43 feet in length, it is the longest bridge used exclusively for cross-country skiing in the lower 48 states.

The Timm’s Hill National Trail starts at the Rusch Preserve on Hwy C, and is also groomed for diagonal skiing, skate skiing, and snowshoeing. It travels 10 miles north and connects to an extensive ski trail system in Price County maintained by the High Point Ski Club around Timm’s Hill, Wisconsin’s highest point.
