Located in Northwest Minnesota just 3/4 hour north of Detroit Lakes & Park Rapids, RAINBOW RESORT is your year-round getaway resting on the banks of Little Bemidji Lake from which you have access by boat to three clear water lakes with a variety of fish.  Accommodations include lakeside lodging, full hookup campsites, and recreational equipment for summer & winter activities (see our Rentals page and Specials page).  A lodge with picturesque views of the lake and recreation center provide amenities for your stay.  RAINBOW RESORT has 23k of on-site trails for hiking and cross-country skiing.  In Becker County, explore 400 miles of public snowmobile trails in the winter and in the non-winter seasons, enjoy hiking, biking, hunting and more.  Located near the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, there is an exceptional bird watching experience.  RAINBOW RESORT is a half-hour drive from Itasca State Park, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River. 

About the Resort

RAINBOW RESORT is uniquely located on the northwestern slopes of the Laurentian Divide or Great Northern Divide at the headwaters of a river system flowing to the Arctic Ocean and just 15 miles from the headwaters of the Mississippi River, in Itasca State Park, which flows to the Gulf of Mexico. Situated along the Mississippi Flyway, a major migratory bird route, there is great bird watching. Little Bemidji, Elbow & Johnny Cake Lakes

RAINBOW RESORT sits along Little Bemidji Lake's north shore, providing refreshing summer breezes and giving guests access by boat to three interconnected lakes, including Elbow and Johnny Cake Lakes' which are the headwater lakes of the Ottertail River. These lakes provide over 1,600 acres where you can fish for diverse species like Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegills and more.  Little Bemidji Lake's size makes it safe for small fishing boats except on extremely windy days.  Just down the road is Many Point Lake which is noted for its muskie fishing.  See our Rentals page for fishing boat/motor, personal watercraft rentals.  Our Recreation page lists some of the various rental items and activities year-round.

Itasca State Park

Itasca State Park is a vast wilderness spanning 32,000 acres in Minnesota. Within this legendary park, you'll discover the headwaters of the Mississippi River, explore scenic trails, and encounter diverse wildlife. 

Wonderful family retreat. Nice cabins--two handicap accessible. Some have air conditioning, some don't. Wonderful owners !! Also a tent and RV area. We have been coming here for 20 years. Just don't let your GPS take you down Rat Trail Road to get there!!! LOL!!
