Groomed, Untracked, Uncrowded, Calm, Making Snow
Mohawk Mountain is the home of snowmaking, and it shows ! Skied in the evening on 2/9 for the first time this season at Mohawk , and was surprised to have such high quality snow when others nearby are all reporing Loose Granular. Was Mohawk "taking it up" ? NO !!!! The conditions were excellent, and yet the mountain almost empty. Throw in the fact that it was 2 for $20 night skiing for ski council members, and it was an awesome bargain - I'm going to go back again soon ! There were a few bare or icy spots on the down-slope sides of trails like Pine that are adjacent to the trees, due to melting and water runoff, but there's so much width that there's no need to be going anywhere near that.
Keep it up Mohawk !!! And to those who live nearby, forget about the brown outside your office/home window and get out on the slopes at Mohawk and enjoy the conditions !!! |
