Great Fun good place for all around boarding
Posted on 01/08/2013 by: Dash

Love boarding at Alpine Valley. Lots of different runs and have always had a great time. There is always a run with boxes and a jump that is on an intermediate slope and then there is another run completely separate with other jumps and boxes. Best fun is when the Snowcross course is set up. Would recommend this place over any in the area. Food is a good selection and price is ok, it is always expensive to get food and drinks at the lodge of any ski place. Usually have a couple of fire places going in case you need to warm up or dry out your gloves a little. Go here at least once this year and check it out.

Good Conditions for weather we have had

Weekend Snowboarding was decent considering lack of snow and temperatures. A little icy at the top of mist runs but grooming has done a decent job with rest of the place. Large terrain park area not open yet but other run with boxes, rails, rainbow rail and jump at bottom is lots of fun and great layout for tricksters. Ski shop has any equipment you might need on an emergency but don't go in looking for deals. Leather glove covers are a good price for those that are going to be using the tow rope. These will save your nice gloves. Half pipe seemed to be built but was not open. No snowcross course set up yet either but the crew was working on that section of the mountain. Used an app called Alpine Relay and recorded all my runs and bombed the backside hill for a top speed of 47MPH. Overall best place in lower eastern part of Michigan. Just need more help from mother nature.

Good Place To Go, but still full price.

Alpine Valley has a great terrain course when it is built up. But because they do not have a sufficient amount of snow, they cannot make a terrain course. Even though Alpine only has two of there runs open, it was still a good time but I would wait until they had more snow to go. They are charging full price for less than half of their mountain open. In summary, this was a very good place to go but you should wait until they open more of their runs.

Need More Snow!
Posted on 12/13/2012 by: Anonymous

Went to Alpine last night and they are currently making snow, but will need much more snow! Conditions were very ice and patches of area with no snow. Went by terrain park and didn't see anyone in it.

Hoping they make more snow and that it actually snows soon - we want to get out boarding in some good conditions soon!!!

Weather Permitting
Posted on 01/22/2012 by: Anonymous

I went to Alpine on Wed evening and I believe all slopes were open, however the conditions were shaky. Most hills were icy and choppy, but this is mostly due to the weird weather we have had in MI. The snow blowers were on in an attempt to add a new layer of snow, but that made it difficult to board because it either blew painfully into my eyes, or froze up my goggles. Not to mention that they need to fill in some trenches at the top of the far left chair lift. It just takes a slight slip and someones skis or board could slide right into the trench and cause injuries. Hopefully I can make it back during some better weather conditions to give Alpine another try.

Alpine Valley Fun for Kids
Posted on 01/10/2012 by: Anonymous

Great place for snowboarding and learning new things on all the terrain. Good terrain park and awesome half pipe. Half pipe is accessible by lift but you have to cross a few runs to get to it and it takes a lot of time. Main access to half pipe is by tow rope which is next to it. But as we all know tow ropes kill your brand new gloves. Alpine Valley should make a change to this. Best skiing in the southeastern Michigan area. Majic Carpet is great for beginners area.

Good Snowboard part and great fun for kids

Alpine Valley is probably the best ski/snowboard area in the metro Detroit area. Ski Lodge is a bit small when the mountain is busy. Good shops for emergency equipment if needed. Good selection of food and beverages and the bar upstairs is comfortable and good viewing of the action on the mountain. Very good selection of jumps, rails, and boxes for everyone. Some big jumps for the brave and nice medium jumps for the adverturous and mid level enthusiest. Majic carpet for beginners is the best, tow ropes are terrible for beginners and destroys gloves fast than a person can learn to get down the hill. Would recommend Alpine Valley to anyone in the area.

Wow! Can't believe we got to go Snowboarding over Thanksgiving weekend at Alpine Valley. Would be nice if the lift tickets were cheaper since only a few runs were open.

Had a nice day yesterday boarding at Alpine Valley - could be more snow, but hey it's Michigan and you have to be happy there's any at all! Nice to see they are catering to boarders too.

Nice To Be Boarding Again!
Posted on 12/08/2009 by: Anonymous

So nice to be boarding again in Michigan. Alpine Valley opened this weekend with discounted rates to boot! Just a few runs open, but still enjoyed getting some runs in on Sunday. Hopefully the temps will stay cold, so Alpine can continue to make snow. Nice job Alpine and I hope we all have a good season!

Saturday 11/29

Went to Alpine on Saturday. They had 7 runs open and 5 lifts. It was great at 9am, but got really busy at 11am. The larger terrain park and half-pipe were not open yet, so the smaller terrain park got pretty busy. Overall, the snow was good (and we got a ton more on Sunday) and it was a good experience. The food there is a little pricey for what you get, so we make it a point to drive up to McDonalds or the local Coney Island to get lunch.

Nice Job Alpine!

Wow! Snowboarding in November in lower Michigan how nice! Well there were only about 7 runs open, but to be boarding in late November in White Lake you've got to love it! The runs were nicely groomed. Nice terrain park with rails, boxes and table top. Great to have a nice local option to go to when you don't have the time to go up North for the weekend.

Wow, I'm back in the 70's!

The most antiquated lift system in Southeast Michigan! They had a huge crowd on Su. Jan. 3oth and they waited until 1 pm to open another lift. The lines were horrendous. It's amazing what we ski fans put up with! If I'm paying $30.00 for a lift ticket and they can't get all their lifts going, that's a disgrace. Bad management, plain and simple. My advice, is try a different ski area!

WIN free ski lift tickets!!
