Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Goat's Eye is my jam

If sunshine is windy, it is very windy. It also is a pretty radspot to go. It is definitely saturated with Calgarians and weekends and holidays are very busy. It has the advantage of being a bit closer to Calgary, but that also means big crowds. It has a lot of lifts to compensate.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews It can handle the crowds
12/21/2014 by: Anonymous

Sunshine is going to cost you something to ride. On the other hand, it can handle the crowds. I have always had enjoyable days at sunshine and I just have to return to it. It doesn't disappoint and it runs an insanely long season. It is also in good proximity to Calgary.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews A king of the late season
01/03/2014 by: Anonymous

Sunshine has a longer season than anything else in the rockies. That makes it your late season destination. Seriously, what could be better than some good late season riding? Sunshine is a popular spot and there is lots of terrain. It isn't cheap by any means, but it's a great time.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Sunshine was fun
12/09/2012 by: Anonymous

Went to sunshine for the first time as a beginner skier and loved it. There is lots of terrain for beginners (green runs) to practice. Its a bigger resort so the people arent as packed as I had expected and so it was a really enjoyable experience. Especially enjoyed the 5 mile run called Banff avenue which takes you back down to the base. Despite the -20 degree weather, it was great fun!

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Lots of terrain
11/19/2012 by: Anonymous

You'll pay a bit to be there, but there is lots of terrain. It's also one place you can ride into May. The key is to ride during the week for shorter lift lines. It does get windy and they did have to do some creative work to make it so that there is good snow fencing and to make sure snow stays on hill. It's definitely worth some visits. Lunch isn't the cheapest (but what resort offers cheap lunches?), so be prepared to spend a few dollars or pack your own. I like the food at the base of goat's eye. It's not cheap, but it's not outrageous.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews More mountain than you can explore
12/26/2011 by: Kirk

This is a really great place to be. The only real gripe I have is how expensive the lift tickets are. If you can get a ski card at the start of the season, it becomes a lot more reasonable. As far as terrain is concerned, this really has it all. Plus, the scenery is awesome. This is in many ways, an ideal family resort.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Sunshine(s)
12/15/2010 by: Anonymous

I like sunshine. People will complain about the flat spots, but if you are an accomplished rider, this won't matter, as you will just power through them. The thing about Sunshine is that you have three ski areas to work with in one hill, so there is a lot of terrain. They also use a lot of snow fencing to contain their snow. There is both expensive dining, and typical hill cafeteria food as well.

Love the friendly fast service at Sunshine. Great groomed runs and great moguls! One of the best places for fast moving gondola and lift lines. Ski it every season and looking forward to this year again!

I love this place. It is so beautiful. There is always a excellent base and with the new lodging on the hill its a great place to stay. If I was younger I would want to work there just to be where the action is.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Loved it!
01/25/2009 by: Michelle McCarley

Great skiing here! The snowboarders there will try and talk you into Lake Louise instead b/c they want all the best snow for themselves! The slopes and runs are difficult here but very challenging and the views are incredible! Snowboarder to skiier ratio is about 3:1 but we had such a great time. The lunch place trappers at mid-mountain is fun but really expensive. The inn next door is cheaper and has better food. We skiied Jan 16-19 this year.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Amazing Weekend
01/19/2009 by: Anonymous

This past weekend while all the hollywood stars were in the Banff / Lake Louise area me and my significant other made our way to Sunshine Village. Being that I am not that experienced of a snowboarder and the hills in Nova Scotia do not do the sport justice I was tenative yet excited. We did the ritualistic wake up at six am and stretch before getting in the car in Calgary. Then on our hour and a half drive we noticed that a "few" others had the same idea. We made our first run at around nine am and it was Beautiful. Sunny and comfortably warm. Conditions were fast and even in the warmer weather the snow stayed nice and fast. Line ups in the morning were not that bad and we got in three long runs before our poutine break. After that we did a few more runs and then preceded to the Ski Out and then back home we went.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort rating reviews Loys of snow
12/11/2007 by: Shaun

Went up the 8 th for a full day of riding (snowboarding). Weather was good and it wasnt too busy.Goats eye is now open and their lots of powder to be found.Couple of tree tops and rocks coming off the lift to get to G.E but well worth it to find all the powder in the trees. ski out is open but a lil sketch.

they got 76 or so cm in 5 days wich made for some great riding.Dont think the parks are set up yet but just a mattter of time i guess. Out of everything open i still think they have the best snow and the most of it.
