Good place, close skiing 11/28/2012 by: chuck Everything, specially for a "local" ski area is great. The staff are nice, The atmosphere isnt to bad untill the punks come out then it gets rowdy. Expensive, well same price as big resorts prices on food, but tastes great! Overall, for a day out on the slopes, and for a plac e thats less than 20 minutes away, it isnt bad at all.. love it.

Lots of thought put into this place. 03/13/2012 by: Anonymous Wachusett clearly puts a lot of thought into what attracts customers and what will keep them coming back! High speed quads at every turn. Actually comfortable seats on these quads! Barely any lines even though there were plenty of us out there. Well marked trails. Conveniently placed restrooms - EVERYWHERE - that were kept spotless all day. Lots and lots of tables, benches, seating in lodge area. Super fun Stump trivia game for Apres ski , the DJ for this did an AWESOME job. Why is it 3-6 pm when lift tickets go till 4? We were able to jump in late in the game and were still given a price for being dead last!! I give food a disappointing 3. I just expected the best due to all the Wachusett advertising on this particular item. Too much average chili on top of just average chips Even worse was that we ordered a second platter of just plain chips/cheese for the kiddos and were charged the same price for theirs - $14 bucks.

No snow and there is still a place to go 02/17/2012 by: Daniel OReilly Most of the trails were open for some solid family fun. Definitely a great place in Ma with such a dry season and warm weather. Wachusett keeps the trails nice and day riding always has no waits at the lift. Night riding is popular and usually done right with groomers hitting the trails early evening your night is smooth too.

Slow start 12/22/2011 by: Kelly Considering the mild whether we've received all season, at least they have some snow on a few trails. There was only one run open from the top of the mountain. It gets old pretty fast.

Great Family Place ! 11/14/2011 by: JDC An awesome place to ski with a family that has skiers of various levels and abilities. You can save $100 on a season pass through their GPS Club. Just enter the GPS Group Code: Central MA Skiers & Boards This will save you $100 on a season pass and it works !

Great for beginners or first run of the season. 01/17/2011 by: Anonymous Great way to start off the season, smaller mountain 3 lifts, good variety of trails for beginners / intermediates looking to improve.

Shredder Hell 02/04/2010 by: Big Bull This place has the potential to be good. But in reality it is a baby sitting place for smart-a$$ punk snow boarders who are out of control. The only saving grace is that hopefully, more snowboarders from the mountains up north will decide to come here and avoid the places in NH, VT and ME.

Great lodge 01/28/2010 by: Anonymous After many visits to "rustic" CT, MA and NY ski lodges with questionable bathroom facilities, visiting Wachusetts was a wonderful surprise. Beautiful modern lodge with all the conveniences and even "sky box" accommodations to get away from the crowd. Keep it up!

My favorite day trip from Boston 01/03/2010 by: Anonymous I go to Wachusett often for day trips from Boston. It's only an hour away!!! It has a great combination of trails for everyone. Customer service is excellent, the people that work there are very friendly. I will keep going there several times a year and if you don't......you should.

Happy Days!! 12/23/2009 by: Anonymous Had the opportunity to get back to skiing this year after a couple year break due to other responsibilities. I bought season passes for my daughter and I - and we have been loving it. Great Mountain close by with the nicest people working for them. Can't say enough nice things regarding all the services at the Mountain. Happy Holidays...

Wonderful Wachusett 12/02/2009 by: M I learned to ski at Wachusett, and I will always be fond of that mountain. It is good for beginners--lots of beginner and intermediate trails. It is convenient for people from the Boston area who want to ski at a real mountain and not the puny Blue Hills!

Minutes Away! 11/20/2009 by: Justin What a great place to go when you don't feel like traveling far. Being from Rhode Island, the mountains in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine are often too far to take a day trip to. Wachusett has their lifts open until 10PM every night, making it an awesome place to go after work. The riding, although a smaller mountain than the mountains up north, is on par with these resorts but is just on a smaller scale. The park is always amazing and never disappoints.

Great for kids 03/06/2009 by: Anonymous What a wonderful place to teach kids how to ski or any other winter sport for that matter. The ski teachers are great and make them want to learn everything they can during lessons. Good time for the parents to go off and enjoy themselves on the slope during the kids class time as well. Just a good time for all young and old alike. Just a short drive from home! If you need anything at the ski shop the employees are very knowledgeable and will help you as long as it takes (nice people). Thanks for a great first ski experience for our daughter!!!!!!!

Great peaked power close to home 03/05/2009 by: Anonymous The conditions are great. There is packed powder on every trail. It's not too crowded. The best trails are balance rock upper and lower. Smith Walton is also great. The bumps on 10th Mt. have powder on them. All the trials are sweet. The sun tanning is pretty good too.

Small, groomed, great for beginners 02/11/2009 by: Tammy I am an advanced skier, and I have been to Wachusett twice this season. The first time was for a warm up day on a Friday afternoon, and the second time in an organized trip with my college on a Saturday. In the first trip we arrived in the afternoon and the lines were very short. at 4pm a wave of skiers came, but the lines were still reasonable. On Saturday we skied during the day, and it was very busy. Lots of kids, students, families and weekend skiers. There were 20 minute lines, which is a little frustrating considering the fact that these are 10 minute trails. The trails are boring, but great for beginners. For my personal taste the place feels too groomed and artificial. An advanced/ intermediate skier will be bored after a couple of hours.

Close, inexpensive and fun 01/23/2009 by: Jon Hit Wawa 1/15/09. Only had enough time for half of half a day but still had some great runs. They were shooting snow during my runs which made things a little cold (temps were in the single digits). The generated snow conditions were top notch. Used AAA discount and got 1/2 day ticket for $31, good value. Didn't eat/drink there so can't comment. Best skiing close to home.

Still good skiing 12/06/2008 by: Anonymous Skied Wachusett yesterday. No one is there. The conditions were good. It's like spring skiing. The snow is soft so you have to turn alot. No lines. They are going to open more trails this weekend. On the summit conifer and 10th mt are open. As well as lower balance rock . All are in excellent condition. Ralph's run has a bare spot but the rest of the trail is good. Challenger is fun. Go there there aren't any crowds

Season starter OK so far!!! 11/28/2008 by: JimmyG My neices and I went up to the hill for the first time ever on Wed. afternoon. They are from NH. and we normally ski at loon. For the size of the Mnt. we had fun, but the trails are really narrow and short compared to what we are used to. All in all its a great value and alot of fun for the price of our century passes you can`t beat it. I`ll know more as the season progresses, I`ve heard alot about the lift lines here. The pro shop is outstanding in the boot fitting dept. Second to none in my opinion. I talked to and had an older gentleman adjust and shim my boots for me. When he was measuring my foot he was explaining about all my contact points and arch measurements, " I thought he was a Dr. at first" then he proceeded to tell me I had the wrong size boots on! Opps! He will be fitting me to a new set very soon! I did not try any food there so I cannot comment.

terrain park 01/18/2008 by: Anonymous Well... Where do I begin. Its the worst park Ive ever been to in 23 years of snowboarding! The top left of the 1/2 pipe is unusable do to the fact that the right entrance is permanently roped off. Which is silly because they waste thousands of dollars in snow to build that part of the pipe! Also The decks aren't wide enough for cats to drive down, therefore the lip of the pipe will NEVER be even. This puts Wachusett 10 years behind! Also they have one jump. It invites you to land on icy unmaintained flatness! Also.. they invite the public to ride down the middle of it.

the 1/2 pipe 01/17/2008 by: Anonymous If you like to ride 1/2 pipe.... do yourself a favor but get ready for some serious frustration. Call and ask when it was cut last. Heres the comedy. you can see it from the base yet NOBODY knows! NOBODY! If your lucky they will connect you to the terrain guy "DAVE" but guess what? Dave doesn't know cause hes not a groomer. Groomers don't know cause their not in charge of terrain. The shop doesn't know cause they don't care. Ski patrol thinks because its open that its cut. well its not! Its dangerous and unmaintained with no love and no set cutting schedule. Its sad they waste 50-60 thousand dollars just to say they have a pipe. While you and I pay for it in lift ticket prices. I'm going to Loon where they take pride in their shapes!

Wachusett Mountain Fun 01/17/2008 by: Michael Arroyo Wachusett Mountain has many advantages, and for that reason is my favorite mountain to ski in New England. First, it is a nice size mountain (for New England). There are many peaks, many of which open early and close late in the season. The variety of terrain once the whole mountain is up and running is great, and only eclipsed by Killington in Vermont, if you can stand Killington (I can't). You can spend the whole day starting at one end and working your way to the other. There are long wide steeps, great tree skiing, bump runs, intermediate trails galore, and a big beginner area (which gets crowded during holidays and good weekends.) But the way the trails are spread out means the skiers spread out as well but at times accumulate long lines. Overall I enjoy Wachusett for the closeness to Boston and friendliness of it's staff.

park people 01/08/2008 by: Anonymous The only mountain that charges for their park and then builds lip to landing ratios that hurt people. Not to mention waisting tons of money and snow on a half-pipe that doesn't get cut on any kind of a regular basis. They could be so great if they would listen to the people who know. Instead.... they will always be ten years behind!

great place!!!!1 01/06/2008 by: chuck case the snow is well groomed, the trails are great and it is such a big place, even when its crowded you still have all the room in the world to ski..the people there are all very friendly and when and if you have a question they would answer you...the lodge is a very warm and comfortable place with alot of great amenities and food..the best part is the ski security where you put your skis to go inside so you don't have to worry about someone stealing your very pricey skis...there is plenty of trails for the beginners and also for the well trained..there is a colossal snowboard park and half pipe always with the best new groomed snow.....

Excellent groomers 12/11/2007 by: Scott excellent groomers today. I was 1 of maybe a dozen people on the hill come first run. Beautiful weather and fun conditions. From the looks of it, most of the mountain will beup and running by the end of the week.

still good wish you were here 12/07/2007 by: Anonymous This is my 7th time skiing at WA Wa. No one is there. The conditions are good. Packed powder on a hard base. Intermediate slope not open because the lift is down. The snow is good. Don't forget to sharpen your edges and wax no matter where you go. If you don't know what I'm talking about bring your skis to the local ski shop. Don't wait until Jan. to ski.

Lots of family fun! 11/19/2007 by: Jess R Great for parents and kids! Parents can put kids into a specialized "kids-only" lesson in Polar Kids and then go skiing together! The rentals aren't too shabby either - all the skis have been recently updated. This mtn. has a mix of challenging terrain and easy terrain for everyone! I had tons of fun there!

Backyard Riding 01/12/2007 by: Bobby Not a bad mt close to home. last year we had the season pass and rode 3 to 4 nights a week after work. lots of fun riding at night! for a small mt the trails aren't bad, we had a lot of good rides here. its a perfect place to learn...which is what i spent last season doing. the bar is a good spot to warm up and get a liquid charge too.
