Business in front, party in the back! 11/30/2013 by: Anonymous Of the 6 or 7 trips I've taken to Whitefish Mountain Resort, only once has it not been foggy. When skiing in fog so thick you can't see more than 15 feet in front of you it's very difficult to get a good feel for the mountain. However, foggy or not, the backside (north facing side) of the mountain has always been amazing! The front south-facing side of the mountain has typically had sub par snow conditions, being icy in the morning and slushy in the afternoon, partly due to it low elevation base. The newer base lodge is fantastic, however, the faulty lift placement that requires skiers to take one fixed-grip quad from the lodge and parking areas just to get to the rest of the lifts was terrible planning!

Fun place to ski 01/22/2013 by: Jeff On a powder day this place would be amazing! Whitefish has great terrain, a fantastic base lodge, great views of Glacier National Park (when not socked in with dense fog) ... Of the 6 times I've skied there, the fog from top to bottom has been thicker than potato chowder all but once with visibility of approx 2 chairs. The snow at the base has a tendency to fluctuate between wet and icy, however the snow on the backside is always superb with great terrain. Whitefish has a great terrain park, long cruisers, and incredible side country in Hellroaring basin! Having a lively ski town nearby is also a plus! If you take one trip to Montana ... ski Big Sky! But if you take two then also ski Whitefish.

annual January destination 12/04/2010 by: Lynette Finstad Love, love, love this ski resort. The variety, night skiing, friendly staff, good prices. We always buy our tickets at Costco and save a few bucks. Short drive from townsite, good roads and excellent parking. So much variety at Whitefish, I never get bored. Blew my ACL hear in 2008, got amazing medical care from the ski patrol and clinic staff. They took excellent care of me, I will be back this year with my new knee!

best ski patrol ever 03/06/2009 by: Lynette Finstad Recently had an oopsie at Whitefish and had to be tobogganed to the clinic at the base. The ski patrol were amazing and very skilled, I would know I am an EMT, and the care I got in the clinic was bar none. Thanks for the great service!! Once I am healed up I hope to be back

My favorite ski area ! 03/10/2007 by: Alex S. Cosentino I have always enjoyed skiing at Big Mountain. The friendliness of the people who work there, the great snow conditions, and the excellent grooming of the slopes, make for a perfect ski vacation. Am looking forward to returning to Big Mountain very soon.

Once the fog lifts--it is perfect 02/27/2007 by: Anonymous I spent 1 week snowboarding at Big Mountain in Feb. 2007. The first day was incredibly foggy, and we could not see more then 50 feet in front of us-I thought we were in for a miserable week. However, the next day the fog lifted, and we found ourselves skiing above the clouds. With fresh powder, beautiful views, a wide variety of trails, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and nearly NO CROWDS I could not suggest a better place to spend a ski vacation.
