Solid Shop 03/15/2013 by: Evan They have a good selection of equipment and one of the only shops in the area that carries Dragon goggles. They always seem to have a wax/tuning special and they even take trade ins and sell used equipment.

tried to make an expensive upsell12/20/2010 by: Greg My wife and I bought a friend new ski boots at Putnam's. We also offered to have the bindings adjusted as part of the gift. When we went to pick up our friend's skis and new boots we were told the bindings needed to be replaced in order for the boots to fit. Thankfully we declined the upsell. Our friend took the skis and boots to Ski Haus in Salem and had the bindings adjusted while he waited for $15.00. Lesson learned. Some ski shops are more honest. We now shop at Ski Haus. And sometimes Philbricks in Dover.

ski boots & Bindings 05/19/2010 by: Greg T I gave a very close friend a new pair of ski boots, purchased from Putnam's Ski Shop in Portsmouth NH, as a Christmas Gift. As part of the gift I offered to have the ski bindings adjusted to fit the new boots. I was told by and associate at Putnam’s that the new boots would require new bindings and it was impossible to adjust the old bindings to fit. In disbelief I gave the skis and boots back to my friend. He told me he went to Ski Haus and for $20 and a 15 minute wait they adjusted the old bindings and the boots which now fit fine. I believe this was a shady case of an unnecessary up-sell. In this economy it is important that retailers be honest and sincere with their customers.

Fabulous help and selection of new and used gear. 11/03/2008 by: Cindy McKenna When I brought my 3 youngest (and myself) to get some used ski packages last fall, the help was just as courteous as if I was buying the most expensive new ski packages they had. They didn't attempt to convince me to buy new...and we definitely all got our money's worth. So we're going back this week since the kids obviously all grew since last year and now the oldest needs to get new (used) stuff and we'll hand down the others!

Excellent Sales and Service 02/16/2004 by: Chris May The staff at Putnam's spent a great deal of time helping me find the right ski...from providing educated advice and multiple demos to special ordering the ski of my choice when they could have sold me something on the floor. Although I would have purchased from them after all of the time that they spent, they ended up being priced well below the competition. It payed to stick with a local shop...especially this one.
