Good conditions even on manmade snow! 02/15/2013 by: Rachel We went out last Friday after taking the day off from work so that we could have a day at Song and the conditions were surprisingly good for mostly manmade snow. Not many trails were open, but what was open was pretty decent. There was some chunkiness from what I'm assuming was a melt/freeze situation. Unfortunately for us, the snowstorm that hit later Friday/Sat gave the mountain some stellar conditions and I saw that all trails were back open. Ah well...next time! We love the lift operators at Song! Definitely the nicest in the area:)

Unexpected Powder Day 12/27/2012 by: Phil Showed up on Sat knowing they were closed Friday and had built up some natural snow. Was the first on the lifts to discovery an easy ten inches and more in drifts. There was one drift up to my waist. I'll admit a lot of that snow drifted off the one side of the mountain from the greens so was unable to ride those. But, was very happy with the natural snowfall and the employees attitudes. When asking what was open was told whatever I want to ride. I should have brought my powder skis but, who would have known this early in the season.

Good riding despite the lack of snow this winter! 02/02/2012 by: Rachel My husband and I were at Song back on 1/21/12 and we were surprised the conditions were so good, considering the severe lack of snow this year. Song does a terrific job with their snowmaking every year. Personally, I believe they offer the best snowmaking in this area, aside from Greek Peak. AND, the thing about Song is that it's actually affordable to ride there! Keep up the good work! I hope we can get back on there before all the snow is completely gone (and it's only the beginning of Feb?!?:((( )

snow conditions/park 01/04/2009 by: Rachel I have to say, the conditions yesterday were outstanding! I am severely jealous that my husband and I cannot get back out there today--especially this morning after several more inches of NEW SNOW fell overnight. Sigh....we did get to check out a bit of the "new park" last night at song. Actually, they have several hits all over the mountain. Well, you have the "main park" which had several rails--mostly large though. I WOULD like to see them have more for beginners. They had several larger jumps so far this year, which makes it obvious that they've been keepin up with their snowmaking this year! They also have a small rainbow rail on the bunny trail--they should have more of these "beginner rails" up in the park, in my opinion.Hm, other than the park stuff, the conditions were just spectacular, again. Hope this weather keeps up!!!

First Day Out of the Season! 12/14/2007 by: Rachel Fleming Song's opening day: Most of the trails were open--if you dared to travel down the ungroomed areas that is! We hit up was Wishing Well first. It was technically open too--it was just about 3-4' of deep powder! So basically if you fell and were not on a steep decline, then you had a serious problem getting up! My husband and I are not used to boarding in deep powder so this was a whole new experience! Fraught will lots of spills! But it was great!!! We decided to take on Bali for our second run of the day. However, Bali was pretty much all man-made snow and therefore was full of lots of loose (and rather large) granulars! It was just a tad icy!Our third run was PERFECT! We took a wonderful leisurely run down Sentimental and it was AMAZING! Powder in most spots (except the tail end of it) and not deep powder that is harder to maneuver in (like Wishing Well was earlier.) Overall it was a terrific opening day! Especially for opening ONE MONTH earlier than last year pretty much!
