About this Ski Shop

Skibootfitting.com (SBF) was founded in 1993 by Greg Hoffmann, a Certified Pedorthist and senior instructor at Masterfit University, the snowsports industry’s boot fitter training centers. Originally called Green Mountain Orthotics Lab and headquartered in Stratton, VT, Hoffmann re-located his specialty boot fitting operation to Vail, CO in 2005 and now operates out of the premier Vail Sports location in Lionshead Village. (GMOL at Stratton is now operated by long-time employee Bill Haight who is also a Certified Pedorthist and both shops maintain a working relationship with each other.) Comfortable, well-fitting ski boots are essential to enjoy the sport of skiing at all levels. Based on this concept, Ski Boot Fitting, Inc., Vail Sports, and the Vail Ski and Snowboard School joined forces seven years ago to create an unprecedented liaison between ski instructors, their guests, and ski boot fitting professionals that continues today. In addition to ski school guests, the staff at SBF welcomes all skiers! Greg’s lifetime passion for making boots perfectly fit and compliment each skier's individual abilities and anatomy is shared by the entire SBF Pro Staff. They live and breathe snowsports—and ski and snowboard boots. In addition to bootfitting at the Lionshead shop and a super-convenient location at the top of Vail’s Chair 4, they are immersed in the snowsports scene, testing boots for Ski and Ski Press magazines, teaching boot fitting techniques at Masterfit University, serving as PSIA examiners and teaching skiing. At Skibootfitting.com, all the bootfitters are current or former ski instruction professionals. “We don’t just talk the talk,” says Hoffmann, “we actually walk the walk. Our goal at SBF is simple: we want you to ski more comfortably with less effort. We specialize in stance balancing and offer on-hill analysis with video review. We have helped hundreds of people ski and snowboard better by balancing their stance in their boots with our exclusive techniques.
