May be disappointing for beginners ...
Posted on 03/03/2010 by: Carol Fairbank I chose to take my family to Blandford based on the trail map and conditions on the website. The map shows at least two easy green trails that come down from the top of the mountain, and the condition report claimed both were open. Halfway down the mountain, we found one of the green trails to be a mis-labeled blue trail. We inspected the trail map again, figuring it must have been our mistake, and rode up a second time, and ended up on the same mis-labeled blue trail. Third time up, we looked for the other green trail, only to be told it had been closed the year before. An employee confirmed that other than the bunny hill, there are no green trails at Blandford. We made the most of it, and skied the remainder of the day, but my family was disappointed that we didn't get what we expected or paid for. This mountain is probably a fantastic value for folks who are closeby and enjoy skiing blue trails - but was a disappointment for my new-to-skiing family, into the low and slow. |

Wonderful Family Ski Resort
Posted on 01/23/2008 by: Hope Thanks to Blandford's affordable rates, great ski conditions, and wonderful ski instructors our family of 4 enjoyed a fantastic day on the powdery slopes! The staff from the ticket window to the rental shop to the chair lift operator were friendly and very helpful. While our daughters took a 90 minute lesson, my husband and I were able to check out the mountain without the hassle of waiting in long lift lines. We're spreading the word that Blandford is an affordable, family-friendly mountain to our family and friends. |
