This used to be a great lodge, but the change in ownership sent it to the bottom of the list, just after the "last resort". The food quality has decreased, and second helpings are no longer offered, which was a great thing when skiing or hiking all day. The planned activities are minimal. The property has become run down with much repair needed. But much worse that-I made a reservation ONE YEAR in advance-they didn't have the rates yet and were going to call me when they did. and they called me: to tell me they had booked a wedding during that time and had to change my room to another building (and I would have to absorb the higher cost.) ok, I agreed. turns out now THAT building is not available and they are refusing to honor their reservation that they confirmed to me LAST august. BEWARE-these people have no regard for their guests. Many requests to speak with the owner were refused by a condescending woman who could care less.save yourself the aggrivation and stay anywhere else!!

The wonderful owners of the past, George and Mary Heim, sold this place about two years ago. The new owner is scurrilous at best and has a terrible temper that he displays with no provocation. Guests are treated badly if he feels like it. It's a shame, but I must recommend that you do not stay here.
