snow is here. Skied Friday at 2:30 classic was good

At 2:30 Friday afternoon the snow was falling + the wind was just getting started. There was maybe 2" of new snow, enough to get a good kick., with no wind in the woods. The more open trails scraped some, more for the skater who was also out than for classic. That is over by now but wait until the parking is plowed, the wind subsides, and the Pisten Bully has packed the main trails. If the high school races go, the trails will get packed down, but skating in this depth will be a challenge until the packing takes charge. Once all that is done, we're in for some very good skiing even if there is some rain on Monday. State racing is scheduled for Tuesday. |
