Wonderful place to go01/18/2015 by: Anonymous Such a great little mountain. The facilities are always clean. Employees are friendly and helpful. We've had many great visits and we'll keep coming back!!

Great for Families 08/01/2013 by: Anonymous Two winters ago our kids brought my husband and myself to Swain, and now we are a family of snowboard addicts. I learned to board the year we didn't have much of a winter, yet Swain made snow. We averaged going there five times a week. The ambiance of the resort is very inviting and family-friendly. I spent many hours in the coffee shop my first year. During the time there I was able to work thanks to the free Internet access. The staff was friendly & the food and coffee prices were fair. It's fun to watch the people on the rails and to participate in the excitement of the races. We love the slush pond at the end of the season. I also appreciate the modified equipment such as sit-skis that allow people with handicaps to enjoy the slopes. The sport can be tough on the body. The first aid staff knows what to do, & they do it in a friendly yet professional manner. Season passes are affordable, lines are rare, and everyone is so friendly that going to Swain feels like we're coming home.

Good place to learn 03/08/2010 by: Anonymous Skied at Swain Yesterday weather was perfect.The staff and skiers were very friendly.I know the vertical is not what they claim. It may be 500 max on its tip toes.The chairlifts are super old and slow.the learning area is at the bottom of there best black diamond run super dangerous with tons of beginners all over when you are at max speed.This is a good family resort everyone was having a time.This is a perfect beginners mountain.

Sunny Day at Swain 01/16/2010 by: Anonymous The snow stayed firm most of the day even with the warmer temperature. By sun down the soft snow started to set up again. Looking forward to colder days again next week but even if the temps get into the thirty's this week the base should stay strong.

Not Bad 12/11/2009 by: Chuck Lamb Swain is a smaller place but on the right day can provide a great value. What lift lines? There are none! Lodge is very nice; roomy and food prices reasonable. On a nice day grabbing your lunch and parking it outside on one of the tables is the bomb. Friendly staff and although some of the trails are shorter than others you can fill your day so your legs feel it on the ride home. Nice change of pace from some of larger places with bigger crowds; Swain is a little more family like. New trails on the left side offer some potential when the major dump arrives or the pump up the snow guns.

Great Conditions 02/12/2007 by: PStark Back from a weekend trip. Conditions were great both days, I especially liked Sunday afternoon as the race ended and the slopes opened up!!
