Why must they blow snow constantly on open terrain? 02/06/2013 by: Anonymous Blue used to only blow their snow on closed trails and during the night====I don't get this continuous snowblowing THIS SEASON on all open terrain......not everyone is an advanced skier to manuever through this stuff and it can be quit dangerous when sticky and deep. Also, baseball chunks and treacherous ruts on beginner Burma Road?? Doesn't ski patrol access better prior to opening a trail? The ski patrol/trail staff also has the habit of driving their snowmobiles right up the center of the trails bringing up chunks and ruining the cordoroy (when present)---no etiquette to ride up on one designated edge. I am an intermediate skier and ski all of their terrain other than the couple double blacks and I left after 45 minutes today. They need to learn how to groom their trails better and NOT blow snow while the mountiain is open! I have been a season pass holder for at least 10 years here and this is the first season I have been disappointed just about every day out on the mountain.

Great ski instructors, frustrating lift lines 01/03/2012 by: Anonymous Spent a few weekdays between Christmas and New Years at Blue. My kids and wife raved about their ski instructors and really had a great lesson. That is where the good experience ends. The layout of the mountain (when all the terrain is not covered) forces skiers through the older double chair lifts for access greens and blues. The lift lines were painfully long (20-30 minute waits). We spent 80% standing on line and 20% skiing. What was most frustrating was the lack of mountain staff to help manage the longs and expedite loading. Blue needs to step up the lift equipment or add staff to help things go faster.

bluemt. 01/17/2011 by: Anonymous this place is pretty big compared to the other places in pa. i took my first lesson here and it kinda sucked. you could probably fit the "learner hill" in someones back yard. plus it was packed. but the park is awesome. the ppl at the resort are rude tho. my friend's snowboard was even stolen while he was there.

Best in the valley 01/14/2011 by: Chris By far the best resort in the valley, but still small. I like going and it has some good trails. Downside is that its packed, esp on the weekend when all the NYers come down. Dont be suprised if you wait 15-20 mins in line to get on the lift then work your way through the boards at the top who dont move to the side to strap in. They have two double diamonds that are nice but short and straight. They put in glades this year which are nice but really should be much much longer and not so wide.

awesome medical aid 01/10/2011 by: Anonymous Fell and was injured on beginner slope (first time down). EMT guys in red are constantly patrolling. One came by and stopped, assessed, called for a toboggan ride, followed with my poles to the bottom of the mountain and fixed me up while my family crowded the aid station. Then a shuttle drove us to the lodge to meet the rest of the family. Really terrific services there. Will go back for another lesson!

Great Snow, very crowded 03/03/2010 by: Anonymous The snow conditions were the best I've seen in the Poconos. The weather was fantastic, just a little windy up at the top. As far as crowds go, was extremely crowded on the green trails, but if you stayed off those, the other trails were fine...until you got to the lift. It was well worth it though.

second time skiing 01/26/2010 by: Chris Harendza Nice place. It was crowded the day I went. I found the people who worked there were not at all polite - this included nearly everyone! It was a real turnoff. The ski patrols should have done more to control the snowboarders on the "slow skiing" trails.

Blue Mountain 01/11/2010 by: Anonymous Blue mountain is: always..always! icy even when blowing snow, very very pricey, always crowded-even on weekdays, and on really busy days you might have to park half/mile away. Or at the base of the mountain where you'd have to take a shuttle to get to the lifts.

Awesome Mountain! 12/26/2009 by: Tara its a great place to go whether you are a beginner or an expert because there are a variety of trails. when the terrain park is open there is so many jumps and rails you can do including a school bus and playground rail! the trails are long and fun and when you get to the bottom the lines may be long but since there is a 6 person lift and a 4 person lift they go fast as well as the lift up to the top. love the mountain, i used to get a season pass every year until college but i still go every winter on break. the food is awesome as well as the service!

Great Suday Twilight Skiing 03/10/2009 by: Juan Santana Good place to get the last 2 hours of daylight before nighttime skiing begins. Twilight fares begin at 4 pm, and the mountain is already cleared out.

Best in the Pocono's ! 03/06/2009 by: Mark Geiger First time there, perfect conditions no crowds high speed six pack rocks. Almost most every trail is straight down the fall line for 1082' of quad burning fun. I ride an alpine carving board and this mountain is great for carving. The grooming is excellent and what I saw of the park features from the lift looked wicked. I didn't' eat any food but a bottled water was $2.75

One of the best local places 03/05/2009 by: Anonymous If you live in PA or NJ you better give this place a try. none of the local ski areas around it compare to it. They have a really great crew that keep the trails perfect (or a perfect as you can get them in this area)

The Best 02/09/2009 by: Justin Luckenbaugh Blue mountain is definitely the best place to snowboard in the regional area to Philadelphia, not to far away and from what I found out the most affordable. Has all types of trails from beginner to very advanced, I would say that this place has improved over a 100% over the past few years and keeps getting better, thanks a lot.

blue is awesome! 01/22/2009 by: dave blue mountain is awesome. it is by far the best mountain in pa they are always making changes trying to keep things new which keeps me coming back time after time. by the way its huge even on those busy days it doesn't seem as busy as other mountains because of its size and the amount of trails it has. for me it is also sooo close an hour from home to great riding you can't beat it. i give blue mountain two thumbs wayyy up i love this place.

Lots of runs, worth the drive! 01/21/2009 by: Anonymous I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of runs and condition. Its definately worth the 2 hour drive. My only complaint is the lift has a difficult drop and when getting off you have to navigate over or around many fallen skiers/ boarders.

Real nice mountain 01/05/2009 by: Anonymous The runs are longer that most pocono resorts and there are equal amounts of runs for each ski level. The lines were long, but moved fairly quickly. The mountain was not too crowded and it was a Saturday that I skied. Very enjoyable day.

BEst in PA 02/19/2008 by: Dan Blue mountain offers a wide variety of skiing at affordable rates and its located in a central area which is easy to get to. Blue Mountain is my top choice in Pa and I have been to 10 different resorts in the state. Short lift lines and great snow equals a good time.

Great Place! Lots of fun for everyone. 02/03/2008 by: J Ley Blue Mountain is a great place to hang out with your family and friends. I try to make it to Blue Mountain several times a year during the winter season to enjoy the outdoors. Every year I look forward to hitting the slopes. What I like about Blue Mountain is the many different trails they offer as well as the 6 person lift that is quick. That means more time skiing/boarding, and less time on the lift. The best days to go are on the weekdays since it is less crowded. I highly recommend this place to all. Enjoy!

Good Place for the Whole Family 01/08/2008 by: Anonymous This is a great mountain, the mountain has slopes that are good for every level. Sidewinder Terrain Park is by no means for beginners, but there are easier terrain parks. The ski patrol is annoying but if you don't do anything wrong you will be fine.

ICE Moutain 01/01/2008 by: John ICE Mountain is the best way to describe this place. The uphill capacity of the two high speed lifts is impressive, but wy bother when you face a mountain of ice when you get off the lift. Learn how to make snow and groom the mountain correctly!
