Ski Butternut Terrain

Ski Butternut is a FAMILY ORIENTED mountain. We are a big softie. Easy for most to enjoy long groomers from the top. The Mountain allows parents to relax and let the kids roam, as most of our terrain is on the softer side. We do offer some challenge for those looking for more demanding terrain. You'll find this on Downspout & Lucifers Leap as well as in our Terrain Parks. Great Grooming, snowmaking and customer service. Incredible programs for kids. Quality snowmaking and Grooming all within a 2.5 hour drive of NYC or Boston are what make Ski Butternut the stand out area it is.

What's New This Season at Ski Butternut

We have increased our water pumping capacity by 41%. we can now PUMP 5200 GPM. More Water means MORE SNOW FASTER! New Groomer, New Air & Water snowmaking lines installed Summer 2011 & 2012, Preferred Online Rental system keeps your info on file for faster service. Over 150 tower snowguns! We also snaked in 2 miles of new 12" & 8" snowmaking pipe to handle all the water. 5200 GPM is quite a powerful snowmaking system for a mountain the size of Ski Butternut offering 110 acres of ski terrain.

We cover 100% of our trails with snow. We have always had a reputation for quality snow. Now we can focus our enhanced snowmaking arsenal to more quickly blanket our 22 trails with 3 - 5 feet of snow. And we can do it QUICKER than anyone else around! Thanks to the additional snowguns and pumping capacity we can make snow at a pace that just may make Old Man Winter blush. We're the 1st Eastern mountain to open 100% of our trails by snowmaking power alone the last few years.
