Trail Descriptions
Collection / Display Trail: A flat trail showing a sampling of highly prized landscape plants.
Highlights Trail (1 mile): Flat, giving an overview of the area, running around Corning lake.
Crabapple Trail (.5 miles): A short trail showing Holden's collection of crab apple trees.
Blueberry Pond Trail (.5 miles): Another short trail that highlights landscape ideas.
Bole Woods Trail (1.5 miles): Named a National Natural Landmark for its beautiful look at a mature beech-maple forest! Offers some rolling terrain.
Woodland Trail (1.5 miles): A rolling trail that wanders through both young and mature forests.
Old Valley Trail (2.8 miles): A hilly and secluded black diamond trail highlighting terraced hillsides.
Pierson Creek Trail (1.9 miles): (runs partially along the Old Valley Trail) Another diamond trail taking you around the valley surrounding the creek.
Corning Lake Trail (1.5 miles): A nice moderate jog around Corning Lake. The Holden Arboretum is a beautiful private nature preserve located in Kirtland, Ohio. The area consists of over 3,600 acres of woods, ponds, fields, ravines, and plant collections. Holden offers many programs, tours, and classes.
Area Info
Posted Hours: 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Sunday, but they have a rather liberal visitation policy. Members are given the combination to the parking lot lock, so members can feel free to enjoy the area virtually anytime dawn to dusk!
Directions
Take I-90 to Rt. 306 (The Mentor / Kirtland Exit), and turn south. Drive about 1 mile down the big hill, and make a left at the bottom on to Kirtland-Chardon Rd.. Go through the stop and continue straight for about 2 miles and continue through stop sign (past Penitenairy Glen Park) for another mile or so. Make a left on to Sperry Rd.. The Visitors center is about 1 mile down on the left.

The Holden Arboretum Tickets - More Info
Cross country skiing is free for Holden members. Non-members pay regular admission price of $6 for adults (13 and over), $3 fpr children (6 to 12). Seniors (over 60) are free on Tuesdays.
Membership prices
$40 for one adult
$50 for two adults (includes children/grandchildren under 18). More About Rentals
