More About Timberland West
About
Timberland West is a 2.6K out and back trail located on the county line between Barron and Burnette counties on Highway H, about 10 miles from Cumberland. The 30 foot wide trails are double tracked for classic skiing on the edges of the trail, with a wide skating lane in the center. The lights come on at dusk, and go off at 11:00 PM. There is a small warming house at the trail head/parking area, and Barron county is going to install a pit toilet this fall in time for the season. The donation box is located next to the sign in the parking lot, or memberships to Cumberland Area Ski Touring Association (CASTA) are available, forms are in the warming house. Family memberships are $40.00, Single are $30.00. The terrain is very gentle, well suited to the beginning skier, but also serves as a place for the working skier to train after dark. One mile North to Boyd road, and a mile east on Boyd road will bring you to the main Timberlandhills trail system.
