More About Mt. Washington Resort
About
Mount Washington is home to one of the most spectacular coastal alpine settings in North America. With the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop on one side and scenic Strathcona Park bordering the other, we're a sought after media location. From travel writers to cinematographers, Mount Washington offers a pristine environment for shooting your next segment, or writing your next story.
In winter, Mount Washington receives a legendary 10.5 metres of annual snowfall. The resort is acknowledged as the home of Canada's deepest pile, however, it's not all about the snow! In summer, the mountain and surrounding resort community transforms itself into a major destination for mountain bikers, hikers, and summer alpine enthusiasts
If you're looking for activities beyond alpine, all snowbound tastes are catered for. Mount Washington provides guests with one of the top-rated Nordic experiences in North America. The resort’s post and beam Raven Lodge, perched on the edge of Strathcona Provincial Park, is the epicenter of Vancouver Island’s cross-country community. Over 55 km or 34 miles of world-class machine groomed cross-country trails exist around the resort and through scenic park lands.
In addition to cross-country skiing, top off your Island Nordic experience with a day of snowshoeing in Mount Washington’s snow-frosted forests. The Raven Lodge’s popular evening Snowshoe Fondue returns for another sumptuous winter. Don't forget to book the fondue in advance so you don't miss out!

Ski Lessons
Our programs are dynamic and fun, the way skiing and riding is supposed to be. Whether you are a first time skier or rider or someone looking to brush up on their skills, we have something for you. The best part is all of our programs offer small class sizes, as recommended by the Canadian Ski Council, and extend lift line priority to you which means more time skiing and riding and less in line.Improvements This Season
The 2010-11 season brought us the most snow in resort history, what a winter! To celebrate, we've injected 3 million dollars into redeveloping our entire learning area, now called Easy Acres. Easy Acres will be one of the easiest places to slide on snow and the best place to learn to turn!Dining
Located in the Alpine Lodge, Fat Teddy's boasts fast, great tasting pub fare, entrees, and live entertainment every weekend during our winter season. Watch the website for upcoming bands as well as theme parties. Fat Teddys also offers a family section until 9pm for those who are looking for an exciting atmosphere.Bars and Nightlife
