Blacktail Nordic offers 22km of groomed trails and unlimited un-groomed trail opportunities. Trails follow old logging roads through forest openings and old growth up to 6000' providing panoramic views of the Flathead Valley, Flathead Lake and adjacent mountains.Blacktail Nordic Ski Trails offers free, professionally groomed ski trails at 5000' and above making Blacktail the only high-elevation, early and late season Nordic area in NW Montana. Please leave your dog at home. Snowshoers welcome. Contributions welcomed!

Blacktail Mountain Nordic Ski Trails
Blacktail Mountain Nordic Ski Trails are located on Blacktail Mountain Road 3 miles BELOW the Blacktail alpine ski area. The main parking area is located on the left side of the road, 8 miles from the town of Lakeside. We groom Nordic trails 7 days a week from December 1 to March 21. Trail use is FREE however donations are needed to maintain this public recreation facility. Please donate at www.northshorenordic.org

Blacktail Mountain Alpine Ski Area is a three mile drive up the road from Blacktail Nordic. Whitefish Mountain is approximately 40 miles from Lakeside. Backcountry skiers have Glacier National Park and several spectacular mountain ranges to explore.
