About Blacktail Mountain
Blacktail Nordic offers 30km of groomed trails and unlimited ungroomed trail opportunities. Trails follow old logging roads through forest openings and old growth up to 6000' providing panoramic views of the Flathead Valley, Flathead Lake and adjacent mountains. Blacktail Nordic Ski Trails offers free, professionally groomed ski trails at 5000' and above making Blacktail the only high-elevation, early and late season Nordic area in NW Montana. Please leave your dog at home. Snowshoers welcome. Contributions welcomed!

North Shore Nordic Club will be purchasing all new grooming equipment this year and has increased its overall budget for grooming.

The community of Lakeside sits at the bottom of Blacktail Mountain offering a wide selection of dining opportunities.

Lakeside also offer pubs and bars with a selection of evening music and entertainment, including live music. Near by towns of Bigfork and Kalispell offer an even broader array of dining and evening entertainment.

Recreation Around Blacktail Mountain
Blacktail Mountain Alpine Ski Area is a three mile drive up the road from Blacktail Nordic. Whitefish Mountain is approximately 40 miles from Lakeside. Backcountry skiers have Glacier National Park and several spectacular mountain ranges to explore. Our club also groom at the Foothills Nordic Trails near the town of Bigfork.
