More About Parc national du Mont Orford
About
Cross Country SkiingCross country fans can ski to their hearts' content on 13 trails totalling 50 km, including 26 km of marked, groomed and packed skate skiing trails. Beginners and experts alike will discover suitable trails for both classic and skating techniques. Period: From mid-December 2008 to the end of March 2009 (depending on weather conditions).
Snowshoeing
The park offers seven circuits ranging in length 3 km to 16 km and rated from easy to difficult, giving snowshoers access to some beautiful scenery. Why not take the trail leading to the summit of Mont Chauve (16 km return) or discover the 4.6-km Des Loutres trail? The latter is a loop, so you can take a break at the Grande-Halte and go back along the other part of the trail, which passes the Le Vallonier Campground. All of the trails begin at Visitors Centre, except for the Des Loutres loop, which starts from Le Castor hut.
