More About Highland Lodge

About

The 16-25 KM Great Circle loop has achieved renown as the "crown jewel" of the region's cross country trails, many seasoned skiers proclaim it's the most beautiful trail in the East! Like all of our trails, this one is laid out for views, meandering through sugar bushes, high farm meadows, across frozen ponds, and through a high pristine nature preserve--all with stunning views of the Northeast Kingdom landscape. The trails, never crowded, offer a unique opportunity to escape the world, and to spend a day traversing a landscape that retains the peace and solitude of a past era. The Highland Lodge and nearby Craftsbury Outdoor Center cooperatively maintain a scenic trail that connects the two trail systems; the two nordic centers share reciprocity for their house guests.
