About

Smugglers' Notch Resort offers 34 kilometers of cross-country trails and 24 kilometers of dedicated snowshoe terrain. the trails are for every level from beginner to expert. Both group and private lessons are available in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There are also many special tours offered weekly: Mom & Me Private lessons (X-C only), Snowshoe Trek - Our Forest Heritage, Snowshoe Trek - Winter Survival, Snowshoe Trek - Vermont Experience, Family Snowshoe Cider Walk, Sugar On Snow Snowshoe Trek, and S'mores & Snowshoes Trek.

Smugglers' Nordic Center offers 30 kilometers of cross-country trails for every level of skier from beginner to expert, and 24 kilometers of dedicated snowshoe trails. Group and private lessons are available. Special tours teach about bear habitat and maple sugaring. The popular weekly Snowshoe Adventure Dinner heads out on an evening exploration of the Sterling summit on snowshoes, capped by a delicious dinner catered by the Resort's Hearth & Candle Restaurant in a summit warming cabin, and trek down to the base lodge on a ski trail with beautiful valley views.

Skating is FREE with your Smuggs Pass or Season Pass. Ice rink usage is $5 or free with skate rental. Skate rental is $5 per pair. Sharpening services available. Use of Ice Skating is included in all the Club Smugglers' Packages. Open daily, weather permitting, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Ski Lessons

Join us at our Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Adventure Center and learn the basic techniques of cross-country skiing. Discover the beauty of the Vermont Winter landscape. Cross-Country Lessons Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 10:00 am - 11:30 am 1 1/2-hour group lesson. Join our skilled Nordic instructors for a cross-country group lesson. Learn to ski and enjoy the serenity of the Vermont Winter woods. $45 per person, per session. Included with your Club Smugglers' Summit Package.

Improvements This Season

Experience the Fun of Snowshoeing in Vermont's Green Mountains! Whether you want to go for a short and leisurely stroll with the entire family alongside the frozen No-Name Brook, or hike deep into the sugaring woods where you can check out the maple sap lines and look for deer tracks, our Atlas Snowshoes will get you there. We offer guided snowshoe treks for every interest and ability. Beaver Ponds, High Elevation, Sugar on Snow, Survival, Evening Fireworks - our guided treks are a great way to learn more about the Vermont woods as well as master some more advanced snowshoe techniques. Have more ideas? Great! We are excited to build private snowshoe treks around the interests of you and your family with our Choose Your Own Adventure program.

Dining

There are many dining options ranging from pizza to gourmet within Smugglers' Notch Resort's vacation village, as well as within a short 5 mile drive into neighboring Jeffersonville. Of special interest to Nordic and outdoor aficionados is the Snowshoe Adventure Dinner (for 18 & older). This is a weekly dining experience atop Sterling Mountain. The Sterling lift transports guests to The Top of The Notch, a mountain cabin lit only by candles. The renowned Hearth & Candle restaurant serves a gourmet meal with appetizer, choice of main course and famous desserts. After dinner guests enjoy a 40 minute snowshoe down to the Base Lodge. This is a rustic experience that guests adore.

There is featured entertainment nightly for guests with such offerings as Sports Highlights, Marko's Magical Mystery Show, Goodtime Trivia, Liquid Courage Karaoke, and LIVE Jam Band.

Lodging, Hotels, and Condos

Smugglers' Notch Resort is a vacation village comprised of studio to five bedroom condos, restaurants, activity centers, and other facilities. Most condos are appointed with full kitchens, fireplaces and decks. All are within a short walk or free shuttle ride of the activities and lifts.

Smugglers' is a self-contained resort village with alpine, snowboard, telemark, cross-country, snowshoe, snow tubing and ice skating all on site. Snowmobiling tours are also available.
