About Viking Nordic Center
Our trails are classic old school trails that take advantage of the natural terrain through old farmland in the West River Valley. Go for a long graceful run or hard training workout it's up to you. Classic or Skate skiing, whichever is your style we have the trails. We also have two dedicated trails for showshoers who are looking for a deep woods experience.
Break mid-day with a bowl of hearty homemade soup and a sandwich in the cafe. End your day with a warm cookie and a hot chocolate. On sunny days take advantage of our sun deck where you can soak up the rays and see across the valley to the other side of the Green Mountains. Three picnic tables out on the trails offer a more private lunch setting. And the cookie cards are available for all kids, large and small. Come spend a day with us or a weekend. We look forward to your visit.

Classic and skate equipment for rent. Children sizes starting at size 28 boots, up to adult size 50 boots. Pulks (pull behind kid sleds) also available by the half day or full day rentals. Packages available for trail pass/rentals/lessons. Family lesson package also available.

Cross Country Skiing Lessons at Viking Nordic Center
Weekends and most mid week days. Kid lessons, skate lessons. Group and private lessons. New last year the Family Lesson, a shorter version of our group lesson for the entire family.
Ski Racing Programs at Viking Nordic Center
Viking is affiliated with West River Nordic BKL ski club and hosts two night races each season. We are also the home area of Burr & Burton Academy Nordic ski team. 2009 we hosted two days of ECAC college races. Night races under the lights makes racing at Viking a unique experience!
Improvements This Season at Viking Nordic Center
There is no rest for the weary. Constantly working to improve the trails, the Viking crew cuts, snips and clears the trails. New Adult cookie hunt this year finally brings that Chocolate Chip cookie out for the 'big kids'.
Dining Around Viking Nordic Center
You could dine every meal for a week and not eat in the same place twice. Local restaurants and inns offer a selection unmatched anywhere. Rrom the best burger imaginable at The American Grill to fine Rrench cuisine and everything in between. We are also located only 20 minutes from Manchester where any appetite can be satisfied!
Viking Nordic Center Lodging, Hotels, and Condos
Beds; from simple to elegant, whatever your heart desires. Country inns, local family run hotels, bed and breakfasts, or stay here with us in our 4 bedroom house (sleeps 10) , on site then roll out of bed and onto the trails. Ski first tracks or sit by a roaring fire, when you stay at Viking it is all up to you.
Recreation Around Viking Nordic Center
Shopping, tons, and tons of shopping. The world famous Vermont Country Store is right down the road, along with so much Manchester shopping it wouldn't fit here! Snowmobiling, downhill skiing, ice skating. There are a lot of things to do in the area.... Or, just do nothing. Sometimes it is best to sit by the fire and read a good book.
