More About Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center

About

Sheltered by majestic pine & hardwood forests, 38 of our 50 kilometers of trails are trackset with skating lanes with up to 2.7 kilometers illuminated for evening skiing (available nightly to lodging guests as soon as trails open & on specially scheduled Saturday nights to the general public) . The vast majority of our trails are one-way, uncommon in the industry, providing skiers & snowshoers with a remarkably peaceful and solitary woodland experience. 12 kilometers of trail are ungroomed, marked & mapped snowshoe trails which provide a solitary wilderness experience within our private lands. Tucked away in a unique snow basin in the heart of snow country & enjoying some of the most reliable snowfalls in the East, Lapland Lake offers lengthy winter seasons. Immerse yourself in the splendor of the Adirondack Preserve while gliding through majestic forests and alongside scenic streams and lakes while catching glimpses of white-tailed deer, otters, snowshoe rabbits & winter birds.

Founded over three decades ago by operator and former U.S. Olympic cross country skier Olavi Hirvonen, this unique Finnish-flavored resort is situated on hundreds of carefully managed acres. Its mountain setting, combined with cozy, comfortable surroundings and the warm hospitality of the Hirvonen family, create an idyllic setting for recreation and relaxation every season of the year. Abundant natural snowfalls combined with impeccable grooming performed with our state-of-the-art 2010 Prinoth Husky snowcat and Ginzu Groomer and Roller ensures cross country skiers a superb winter experience. Expertly designed trails appeal to all skiers from novices to experts, using classical or skating techniques. Visitors also delight in snowshoeing, ice-skating, sledding and special events.
