About

The Caribou Ski Trails are managed by the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department and serve a variety of skier levels. The rolling terrain accomodates both skate and classical skiers. Skiers are invited to ski anytime during the day and evening. No lighting is available. Headlamps recommended for night skiing. The facility is located approximately 5 miles north of Caribou at the Caribou Country Club off U. S. Rt. 161.

Ski Racing Programs

As part of the Aroostook County Nordic Racing Circuit the Caribou Ski Trails are the site of the annual Henry Anderson Ski Dag which combines an 8k race/tour with a fun event for kids. This year's event is slated for Sunday, February 22. For more info log on to caribourec.org

Improvements This Season

A new Ginzu groomer only adds to the quality of the 15 k of trails. Surfacing is exceptional. With minimal crowds, Nordic skiers can have an excellent outdoor recreation experience. Caribou is also a hub connecting skiers with nearly 20 other Nordic ski centers from the world class Nordic Heritage Center and 10th Mountain Division areas to the Island Trail at Madawaska Lake all simple day trips from Caribou.

A variety of dining opportunities are available within the greater Caribou area. Whether your culinary choice is standard fast food fare or relaxing sit down dining, you will find everything from homemade goodies to award winning recipes.

Both Caribou and neighboring Presque Isle provide night time activities for visitors of all ages. Movies, shopping, dancing or comedy you will find something to do. The Caribou Performing Arts Center also offers up award winning performances throughout the year.
