About Craftsbury Outdoor Center
Craftsbury, located high in the hills of Vermont's "Northeast Kingdom", is blessed with some of the most consistent snow cover in the Northeastern United States. We are well known for having snow when most other areas are closed. We maintain and groom 85 kilometers of trail most of which is 10 to 15 feet wide and groomed for skating and classical technique with a Pisten Bully Snow Cat with a snow tiller. We are renowned for our snow farming efforts, collecting and moving snow to where it is needed with heavy equipment. We also offer skiing on two lakes which are skiable with very little snow. The bottom line is if you are going to make plans for a cross-country ski vacation, you are less likely to be disappointed by the snow in Craftsbury. Craftsbury Outdoor Center is high in the hills of Vermont's famed Northeast Kingdom where snow is consistent from December through March. The Center is situated on the quiet shores of Great Hosmer Pond. Four lake-side cottages and two lodges accommodate ninety guests year-round. Our dining room with veranda, over-looking Hosmer, serves hearty home-cooked meals buffet-style. In the summer, canoes, kayaks, and rowing boats on our private waterfront are available for our guest’s enjoyment. In winter our cross-country ski, skate, and snowshoe shop provides equipment, lessons, and access to our large multi-use trail system and skating pond.

Above ski equipment rental rates are for standard equipment. Performance equipment rental costs slightly more. We also rent (2 hours for $10) Pulk sleds to pull young children. Ice skates may be rented for skatng on our pond for $2 per hour.

Cross Country Skiing Lessons at Craftsbury Outdoor Center
The Nordic Ski Center has an expert skiing staff with some world class skiers. Lessons are offered from the beginner to the advanced level. Skating or classical technique lessons start at $30 for private to $45 for two skiers, to $60 for 3 to 8 skiers.
Ski Racing Programs at Craftsbury Outdoor Center
The Craftsbury Outdoor Center is the home of the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club, one of the East's top racing clubs. Members of our ski staff are capable of providing lessons at the most advanced levels of ski racing. The Center annually puts on three different races including the TD Banknorth Craftsbury Marathon, the biggest and most popular nordic ski race in the Eastern United States.

The Craftsbury Outdoor Center is famous for its hearty, healthy buffet of home cooked natural and vegetarian food. Our rustic wood-stove-heated dining room is very cozy and is the center of many activities.
Bars and Nightlife Around Craftsbury Outdoor Center
The Center provides an ongoing schedule of activities for different age groups ranging from Kids and Family Fun to School and College Programs to Elderhostel. Organized activities include: movies, bonfires, moonlight snowshoe tours, contradances, lectures on local lore, and board games.
Craftsbury Outdoor Center Lodging, Hotels, and Condos
The Craftsbury Outdoor Center has accommodations for up to 90 guests in 4 cottages and 2 lodges. Prices include three meals per day and skiing starting at $87 per person per day based on double occupancy.
Recreation Around Craftsbury Outdoor Center
The Catamount Trail (Vermonts border to border ski trail) runs through Craftsbury Outdoor Center and is maintained and marked for back country skiing. Guided or self guided tours are available. Four major Vermont alpine ski ares are located within an hour drive of Craftsbury
