What's New This Season at Purgatory
Purgatory Resort added snowmaking equipment to improve the ability to provide top-to-bottom skiing from the high-speed 6-person chairlift and ensure a quality skiing experience from early to late season, regardless of Mother Nature's cooperation. Also, new this year, the Durango Dog Ranch will offer dog sledding from the resort’s base, providing another way to enjoy the winter wonderland with canine companions. A new ice cream parlour is debuting in the Village Plaza for even more options for tasty snacks, delicious desserts and a family-friendly hangout. While the San Juan Ski Company is now under new ownership and a new name: San Juan Untracked Snowcat Skiing & Riding Company, it will continue to provide an epic experience as Colorado’s largest cat skiing & snowboarding operation with 35,000 acres of skiable terrain right out the backdoor of Durango Mountain Resort. The annual Winterfest celebration is adding the US Airbag to the list of fun winter activities, Jan. 18-19. |
