About Marmot Basin
Only 20 minutes from the town of Jasper, Marmot Basin provides 86 named trails on over 1,675 acres of terrain supported by world class facilities. The mountain offers 3,000 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding on 100% natural, dry, Rocky Mountain powder.
The ski area's modern lift system carries 12,150 skiers uphill per hour and Marmot Basin is one of the least crowded ski areas of its size in all of North America. From long, gentle, winding novice runs, to steep, high alpine bowls and chutes, skiers and snowboarders of all abilities will find what they are looking for at Marmot Basin.
Large, snow filled bowls are paradise for powder skiers and snowboarders. For those who enjoy cruising, our state of the art grooming fleet keeps the tree-lined trails groomed to perfection.

What's New This Season at Marmot Basin
The Canadian Rockies Express, the longest new high-speed quad chairlift in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
From the ski area base, the longest high-speed quad chair in the Canadian Rockies travels 2.3 km (1.5 miles), whisking skiers and boarders 596 vertical metres (1,955 ft) up to the mountain top in less than eight minutes. The lift was built using the most environmentally progressive construction techniques developed as part of an industry Best Practices Manual written collaboratively with Parks Canada.
With an increased carrying capacity of 4,800 people per hour from the base area, lift lines are certain to be eliminated as it will now take half the time to travel up from the base of the ski area to the top of the upper mountain. Runs for every calibre of skier or boarder, from beginner to expert, are available at the top with some stretching four kilometers long.
