About Gressoney - Monterosa Ski
Gressoney-La-Trinité (1637 m) at the foot of Monte Rosa is an open window on the Walsers’ world …
It is a very well-known resort for alpine skiing, off-piste skiing and heliskiing. In fact, it is situated in the heart of “Monterosa Ski” (linked to Ayas and Alagna by modern ski lift), one of the largest ski resorts in the Alps.
Sightseeing: In the village centre the parish church (17th century), the churchyard with old gravestones and Thedy’s House (a building that is going to be an ethnographic museum). Gressoney-Saint-Jean is still characterized by old buildings made of wood and stone (called “Stadel”) and its inhabitants still wear their precious costumes on special occasions. Moreover, some of them speak an old Germanic dialect, known as “titsch”. The most popular sport is cross-country skiing (25 km). Nevertheless, alpine skiers can enjoy Weissmatten’s famous pistes. Sightseeing: Castle Savoia – Alpenfaunamuseum Beck Peccoz (museum of alpine fauna) - Villa Margherita. |

What's New This Season at Gressoney - Monterosa Ski
A new cable car linking Passo Salati (2971 m) with Glacier Indren (3300 m) is being built. It will probably be ready for the ski season 2009/2010. |
