About Catamount
Catamount is one of the oldest, most respected ski areas in New England. Ever since Catamount first opened in 1939, this special mountain – which straddles the Massachusetts/New York state line near South Egremont, Massachusetts, and Hillsdale, New York – has served enthusiasts looking for the region’s best ski experience – and great skiing close to home. The Cat is On the Move because Catamount keeps changing and getting better. Two years back we added a summit quad chair, increasing our uphill capactiy. Last season we increased our snowmaking capacity by 30%. This season we're expanding on our snowmaking by adding more efficient snowmaking guns. Catamount is skiing and riding the way it should be – relaxed, easy going and fun. Visit us here and experience real mountain fun, real close to home.

What's New This Season at Catamount
New for this season is an increase in snowmaking capacity. The Ridge Quad chairlift replaced one of the summit double chairlifts two seasons ago. The Taconic Lodge added in 2005 offers food service, restrooms and provides seating for an additional 180 skiers. It is also be the temporary display area for the new slopeside village. .
