About Granlibakken Tahoe
Granlibakken Ski & Snowboard Hill is perfect for the beginning through intermediate skier or snowboarder. It's a great place to avoid the crowds of the larger resorts, and learn to ski or board in an intimate setting. Granlibakken Tahoe is one of the oldest ski hills on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, and is an area rich in history. Kjell "Rusty" Rustad, an ambitious retired sea captain and Norwegian ski jumper. made Granlibakken the premier ski hill in North Lake Tahoe after World War II. He named it "Granlibakken," which means "hill sheltered in fir trees" in Norwegian. Granlibakken Tahoe still boasts the quiet, old-Tahoe feel, and has been the proving grounds for locals and visitors alike for generations.
Rental shop, ski school, warming hut and snack bar provide a complete experience. Snow play area adjacent to the ski hill with saucer rentals available. Located just 1/2 mile south of Tahoe City off Hwy 89.
