Great family location for skiing. A++
Posted on 11/23/2010 by: Gregg

My kids started skiing at ages 8&5. They are now 23&20. Being from Arkansas, we have other ski options to consider and have tried them. Always came back to Keystone. Family atmosphere, ski conditions and night skiing are fantastic. Can't wait for our trip back in January with new additions to our ski family. My wife and I highly recommend the slopes at Keystone.

Poor Lift Operations, Moderate Snow
Posted on 04/08/2010 by: Peter

Keystone seems to get less snow than neighboring Arapahoe Basin or Breckenridge. We often seem to end up with a lot of "scrape".

The "Lifties" do not appear to be well-supervised. We were there on a very windy day when the gondola was shut down. We went up via "Peru" chair. After lunch we noticed that about 50% of the chairs unloading from River Run were not full.

Therefore, anticipating no line-ups, we skied down "the front side" to River Run. The #%@* lifties were not loading the chairs! The lift line-up was therefore needlessly 45 minutes long! We kicked off our skies, walked out through the village, and caught the shuttle bus to Peru chair. That was the last day we skied Keystone.

Great place for family

This is a great place for all ski abilities. We are a family of 6, with children age 9-15. We vary in skill from beginner, still best in ski class or on greens with packed powder, to an extreme skier (jump out of the helicopter at Jackson Hole). There's something here for everyone.

Something for everyone

My 13 year old son and myself shred Keystone regularly. There's something for everyone here - Schoolmarm at the top of the River Run Gondola is a great run for beginners - wide and open and a very gentle slope. There are some great blues. Some easy little moguls on some of the runs make them diverse and fun. Moved onto the back mountain last weekend now that I have mastered the art of carving - take the Outpost Gondola and there is a whole other world of great runs back there!

I started at Keystone as a relative beginner. There is something here for every level of skier/rider - look out black runs, you're next on my list!! Restaurant at the top of the RR Gondola is a great place to stop for a bite or a hot chocolate. Found everyone working at the resort very friendly and there are lots of staff out and about that you can approach for information. A little tip - there is a "drop off" point very close to the entrance of the village - worth remembering if you can make use of it!

"No other place like this to ski!"
Posted on 01/14/2008 by: Dennis Burks

I have not been skiing since 1995, we went to Keystone and Breckenridge and I had the greatest time of my life. I loved the night skiing at Keystone and the trails at Breckenridge. Both mountains were great to ski, we had a lot of younger people with out group and Breckenridge was perfect for them with the wide trails. just what to thank you for the time we spent. This is why I am coming back again to these mountains.

Great Food and Fun

You can't beat the Keystone Ranch or the Alpen Stube for GREAT food. Skiing is good and there are enough "upper" lifts to avoid the entry lines. The Gondola is pretty quick in spite of the lines, for a faster ride, the parallel chairlift is noticeably faster and colder. Well groomed slopes and the only night skiing in Summit County are great highlights. Some of the local hotels (Keystone Lodge for one) are up to the highest standards but prices follow the standards. A fun trip to combine with A Basin, Breck and Vail on a good deal Colorado Pass (Buy yours in Idaho Springs on the way and save some $$)
