Awesome Gear-up runs and park........ 10/07/2009 by: Lyn higgins This is an awesome gear-up park for everyone. Since we have size+ months of summer, it takes a little time to get back to your performance standards, and you can accomplish this at here. My daughter and I always spend at least a full day at App Mt each time we come up to Boone. This park has everything that we need and it not far from Wilkesboro, NC. App Mt is out first, in between, and last stop of snowboarding each year… lyn

More Snow Than Others in Area 02/28/2008 by: Anonymous As of 2/24/08 they have plenty of snow. Sugar and Hawksnest are getting thin. Appalachian is a great place for beginners and families. From the bottom you can keep track of yours kids on all the slopes. It is clean and well maintained.
