Ski Cooper South. Don't think much has changed at the place since they opened in 1960. Extreme value. Was there over New Years, best snow they've had in 15 yrs. Went to Apache the first day, what a mess, checked out cloudcroft following day and skiied there for the duration. What a killer little place. One lift, ride up with the sun in your face all Day, good pitch to the hill, enough beginner terrain and trails the kids can pretty much ski by themselves. Beautiful little place. I grabbed a room at the inn of the mountain gods, another great value for what you get. Big deck at small resturant at bottom of hill, picnic tables, bugers, dogs, etc. No beer, wine or liquer for sale so take measures. Gets warm that far South, snow hard to come by most years, ski at night on wkends but I did not take that challange. Can't think of a better place to learn to ski, but can also just rip it from top to bottom in about 90 seconds. The place has got more pitch than most of Heavenly.
